The past couple of weeks I have been a little, let's say, cranky with my kiddos. I've been really busy with this and that and my poor kids are usually the ones who suffer when I'm stressed. I decided we needed a day of fun. On Thursday we did just that....had fun! I surprised D.J. and checked him out of school. He came out of his classroom looking very confused and asked, "Where are we going?" I knelt down and said, "I just thought today would be a great day to go to the Dinosaur Museum." He started jumping up and down and screaming. It was so funny. (try it with your kids sometime, it's totally worth the bad look you get from the secretary when she asks you why you are checking them out and you say "to go have fun!") I loved thinking, you know what, I'm his Mom and I can do whatever I want. Being a grown up has it's perks. :) So after grabbing a couple of friends and some lunch we heading out on our adventure. I decided to let them do whatever they wanted (to a point) and I wouldn't nag them to hurry or anything. We ended up going through the museum backwards because they thought it would be so funny, dug for bones for almost an hour, and went through the 'scary space tunnel' about 6 times. It was awesome! Then we bought the coolest bouncy balls we could find and ended our adventure at Kneaders where they picked out whatever dessert they wanted. I think the kids had fun but I think I am the one that had the best time. I need to take more days to remember why I am here...to be a Mom. I'm going to try and do more things with them just for fun and hopefully when they are grown we will have lots of great memories to make us smile.

You're such an awesome mom. Looks like they had a lot of fun. I can't believe how big Libby looks in those pictures what a cutie.
Looks way fun! I can only imagine how cool it must've felt for DJ to get checked out of school to 'go have fun' AWESOME!! That's a great idea.
So are we doing lunch the 13th and the 14th? Crazy...fun!!! Do you want to ride together? I don't think my kids are coming along to either! : )
Sarah, you are way too hard on yourself. You're a great mom at all times, but this was such a fun idea. You need a gold star and I need to kiss Libby's cheeks. Miss you guys!
I love that adults get to make their own rules! I am glad you had a fun day we all need those more often.
Sounds like you and I have been suffering from the same cranky mom syndrome. I think I need a day of fun too!
That is such a great idea. I can't wait till my kids are old enough to do surprises like that. It looks like you all had a great time. I am so embarrassed of what Mason said the other day in walmart. I guess just keep laughing and I keep praying that he stops. See you soon.
