Fun with D.J.

I was able to spend some time with D.J. at school a couple of weeks ago. I helped with his class Easter egg hunt. I love seeing D.J. at school. I've volunteered in D.J.'s classroom since he was in preschool and love seeing how much he has grown each year. When he started preschool I had to drag him in, kicking and screaming. Now he is a confident, happy, little boy who loves learning and making new friends. I love him so much!

(he couldn't stop eating candy long enough for a picture) The next day I went with his class on a field trip to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway. His class was in need of more chaperone's so both my Dad & I were able to go. D.J.'s teacher let D.J. choose whose group he wanted to be in, of course he chose Grandpa. ♥ My group was all girls, they were so cute. The museum was very crowded but the kids didn't seem to mind. After we finished there we walked to the fountains and had a picnic. Trevor works close to the gateway so he surprised D.J. and came and ate lunch with us. His grandpa, his Mom, and his Dad on a field trip...he's one lucky boy! It was a really fun day. D.J. was worn out and fell asleep on me on the way home.

He's a busy little guy right now. He is in Soccer and Baseball, which means he has a game or practice at least 4 days a week. I told him that next Spring maybe he should choose one sport to play but he told me he likes being busy. He said, "Mom, I have to learn to do as much as I can while I am young!" He is such a funny kid. His favorite word is, "Seriously!". He says it constantly. This is an example of our conversations lately...
"D.J., it looks like a nice day, why don't you wear shorts today?"

"Seriously?"

"Yep, it looks warm."

"Seriously?"

"Yes"

"O.K."

"It's library day at school today."

"Seriously?"

"Yes, so find your books and put them in your backpack."

"Seriously?"

"Seriously!"

"O.K."

It is starting to drive me a little crazy. :)

I love spending time with D.J. boy! He and I watch Dancing with the Stars together every Monday & Tuesday. He ALWAYS points out if someone is immodest, which is a lot on that show unfortunately. He keeps me laughing and teaching me new things everyday about being a Mom. Like sometimes, kids just have a mind of their own, SERIOUSLY!

It's weird that we've come full circle and now we are the chaperone's for field trips. Looks like fun though...seriously! =)

Your kids look so happy-you must be doing something right--let me know the secret! I'm so glad i get to talk to you more now-life just gets spinning too fast. so yes, i have been working in my yard-you're so smart. I love it and it helps me relax; well, until layne decided to kick the kids soccer ball and make a direct hit with my gazing ball-oh well! I'm still at target and of course it's our busiest time of year-everyone's got a mom, right. it's crazy, but it's job security. i hope i get to see you-be sure to say hi, cause you know i'm in the "zone". p.s. how do you get your blog so stinkin' cute?
