I wish everyone had a Mom like mine...

We are the luckiest 5 kids in the world! We are blessed with the most amazing Mother. As I thought about what I could write to express my love I decided to show everyone just how blessed we are.
This is the kind of Mother we have...
She will shop with us as long as we want. Harmony wears her out!

She takes us to breakfast the day of the Relief Society broadcast every year. Followed by MORE shopping.

She takes the kids on fun adventures. This is Weston & Grandma on The Polar Express, Christmas 2007.

She loves her baby girls!

For Luke's birthday carnival she showed up dressed like a clown. She'll do ANYTHING for her grandkids.

She takes the kids for walks in her wagon.

D.J.'s 6th birthday party was planned for the 8th of August 2007. I unexpectedly went into labor with Liberty on the 6th. I wasn't sure what I was going to do but my Mom took care of everything. She made the cake, an amazing volcano for D.J.'s science party, she decorated the house and had the party underway when I arrived home from the hospital. She is my lifesaver!

She has lived her life in a way that made me proud to name my daughter after her.

She dressed up like Hannah Montana for Halloween because she knew her granddaughters would love it.

She is a wonderful wife to this crazy man. (I love you Dad)

She's always willing to play with the kids. She isn't content just watching, which works out great for me because I love just watching. :)

She takes all the grandkids to Hee Haws every year. They love the hayride.

I love this picture of my Mom and Oakley. You can just tell how much she loves her babies.

She supports my kids in everything they do, even if it means taking a couple of hours off of work. She is at almost every Soccer and Baseball game they have, goes to primary and listens to all their talks, scriptures, and even prayers. Grandma is their biggest fan!

She looks fabulous at 50!
Grandma & Ryann Sept. 2008

She loves to read the kids stories...

And take funny pictures.
Grandma, Tyler, & Oakley

She helps me with every crazy birthday party I throw for the kids. And never complains about it. Here she is with Luke's Harry Potter cake that she helped me make.

She finds joy in watching her grandchildren grow up.
Aspen & Grandma August 2008

She loves a good game of horseshoes. She got that from her Dad.

I love her laugh, and once you get her started look out, because she WILL laugh until she wets her pants. :)

She does have a little tomboy in her. I guess it's inevitable when you grow up with 4 brothers and no sisters.
Here she is kissing a frog she caught for the kids.

Here are the girls petting the frog. I guess she's trying to put a little tomboy in them as well.

Every year she takes all the girls on little vacation. We do girly things like go shopping, watch girl movies, do crafts, paint our nails, and stay up late laughing. I look forward to it every year.

My Mom loves Memorial Day. And because of her example it is one of my favorite holidays as well. We have had some amazing talks driving to all the different cemeteries to take flowers to our loved ones. I've learned so much about my grandparents, and great-grandparents on these days. I'm so glad she has started teaching my kids about their ancestors and they love going to the cemetery on Memorial Day now also.

I know when my nephew Everett was diagnosed with Leukemia it broke my Mom's heart. I'm sure she was scared but she quickly overcame that and reminded us all of something her grandpa had taught her, "You can't have Faith and Fear at the same time!" That is a lesson my Mom has taught me throughout my life. She believes it with every ounce of her being and she lives her life with faith, not fear.
This picture is of Grandma & Harmony giving Everett Chemotherapy.

She'll carry my child on her back for a 5 mile hike. Gotta love that! And she's still smiling, crazy lady!

She'll show us her jump roping skills.

She takes the kids to her friends farm in the springtime to feed the baby animals.
She'll sit on the side of the highway with me and the kids when we get a flat tire and never complain about it for a second. I wish I could say the same for me.

She's has been at the hospital for every one of her grandchildren's births. With the exception of Michael & Gavin. But if she could have been there she would have. She almost didn't make it a couple of times but the babies waited for her and then made their appearance.
This is Grandma meeting Ryann for the first time.

She is great company while you are in labor. This is
Nick & Mom in the delivery room waiting for Ryann to arrive.

She shares her hot tub with us.

She takes the kids to the aquarium.
Grandma & Liberty

Here she is at Ryann 1st birthday party. It was a rock-n-roll party!
She is always willing to be crazy!

She's always up for sidewalk chalk. Her specialties are dogs & cats. Libby makes her draw them every time the chalk is out.

She'll always try new things. This is Nick teaching her how to play guitar hero on the DS.

She built an amazing play area in her backyard for the kids.

The kids love sleepovers at Grandma's house. She always watches a movie with them and they have popcorn with extra butter.

Rollerskating at Everett's 5th birthday party.
Like I said, she will do anything for her grandkids.

She always plans fun things for our family to do. Her gift to us for Christmas 2007 was a snowmobiling trip for all the adults. It was so much fun. This is her and I getting warm in the lodge.

Harmony, me, & Mom enjoying our snowmobiling vacation.

I couldn't make it through a day without my Mom. She is my best friend, closest confidant, and biggest supporter. When I'm having a bad day all I have to do is call my Mom and she can tell from my voice that I'm having a bad day. Most of the time she calls me before I even call her and says, "I was just thinking about you and wanted to call and see if everything is O.K." which is usually followed by me rambling on about how stressed out I am and occasionally crying about things being 'too hard'. She gives me encouraging words and makes me feel better and stops by after work to make sure I'm feeling better. Sometimes with a Diet Coke in her hands. Gotta love that! I wish I had her compassion and loyalty. She would do anything for any of her family members and we all know it.
Thank you Mom for teaching me how to enjoy motherhood. You taught me that I can never love my kids enough, or spend too much time with them. You are the greatest example of a Mother, and I a grateful I get to call you...My Mom! I ♥ You!
Happy Mother's Day!!!
