Everyone that knows me knows that I LOVE being an Aunt. Next to being a Mom it is the best thing on this earth! My Mom says being a Grandma is better but since I haven't experienced that yet I'm going to have to beg to differ. I love every one of my nieces & nephews so much and yesterday I gained one more niece. I am so excited. My little brother Jeff had his first daughter, and she is beautiful! Just take a look for yourself.

Highlights of Kaidence's Birth
-I have been sick and in a lot of pain this week so I couldn't walk very much so your Dad and Aunt Harmony were pushing me around while your Mom was in labor. That is until the nurses came and took it from us for the ladies who needed it more (you know, the ones that were numb from the waist down) I guess they were worse off than me. I didn't let Uncle Nick push me, you will learn as you get older why that was a wise decision. I'll tell you what I've always told my kids, if Uncle Nick says "I have an idea" and you don't run away screaming "NO!" then you are going to get hurt. And don't come crying to me, I've told you to run!
-Your Mom and Dad let me be in the delivery room when you were born and it was awesome! Your Mom is such a trooper and went through a lot of pain to get you here so be nice to her. I was the one who got all of those classic face shots of your Mom when she was pushing, you'll know which ones I'm talking about. :)
-Uncle Nick was in the hallway during your birth and he and your Mom were yelling things through the door at each other. Nick would yell "Push Mandy" and she would and then yell back "that one was for you Nick". Then Nick said, "hold her in for 23 more minute" (Then you would have been born at the time he had guessed) After that the nurse got mad at him and slammed the door on him. It was so funny! Classic Ivins moment.
-When your brother Michael came in to meet you he held his fingers up in the cub scout promise and said, "I promise, I will never physically harm this little girl." I have a picture of it as proof. I'll keep the picture handy so you can show it to him often. :)
-The nurse said you were the healthiest newborn she had ever seen. You were totally pink with no bruising and your eyes were wide open. You are so cute!
-As soon as they weighed you I told them to go get you a bow! Don't listen to your cousin Libby, getting your hair done pretty IS lots of fun!
It was a great day Kaidence, and we are so happy you are here, as healthy as can be. You have only been part of our family for one day and I would do anything for you. I love you baby girl!

What a cute baby! I love that your brother was yelling things from the hall way to her! i was laughing so hard at that! why didn't he go in?
What a cute thing to do for her. That will be such a fun thing for her to read when she gets older. You are such a creative person. I hope you are feeling better that sucks to be sick. Are you still up for getting your hair done and hanging out overnight next week. Let me know what I can do to help. Nick is such a funny kid too. Talk to you soon.

Ok, I don't know why I got teary eyed reading that, but I totally did! LOL I can tell how much you love her already! How exciting for you to be an aunt again! Congrats to your brother and his family! :)
