(I am fully aware that there are an obscene amount of pictures on this post, sorry, I want them all in our blog book...LOL)
My Mom decided to take a couple of days off of work and spend some time with the grandkids. The kids were so excited for the 'Cousins Party'. It started on Monday night with a family home evening where we talked about how important families are and learned about some of our ancestors. After the lesson we each packed a sack lunch for our trip the next day. Bright and early we headed up to Salt Lake to This is the Place State Park. I've never been there and was amazed at all the things there is to do. We spent 5 hours there and still didn't see everything.
Lunch time!
Waiting for the train.

The kids were so excited to sit in the front of the train.
This is Libby trying out the 'milking bear'. It was a game that kids used to play to learn how to milk a cow. As soon as they could get the bear to the top of the ropes they were ready to do the milking.
The kids got to learn how to do some of the work kids there age did in the old days. Libby's favorite was doing the laundry. Luke liked to beat the rugs. D.J. didn't like any of the jobs but he didn't mind hanging up the towels to dry when Libby was done washing them. Michael would have plowed the garden all day if we let him.
Tony was a champ on the stilts.
Libby, Ryann, & Oakley
Weston, Luke, Alexa & Autumn with the peacocks. Unfortunately 3 days after we visited the park there was a fire and the barn that the peacocks, baby lambs, and pigs were in burned down. Only a couple of the lambs were able to escape. The kids were so sad to hear that the peacocks died.
Pony rides were a highlight of the day.
Aspen loved the animals.
D.J. favorite spot to visit was the blacksmith shop.
There were so many of us that we took up the whole train.
Grandpa & Baby Gwen
At the end of the day we went panning for gold. Luke was the only one to find any gold and was very excited.
After our fun day at This is the Place park we headed home to Grandma & Grandpa's house for a BBQ and an outside movie.

Todd did all the grilling.
It was Yummy!

The kids absolute favorite part of the whole party was sleeping outside with Grandma & Grandpa. I wasn't sure how long they would last but they surprised me and everyone slept through the night and had a blast. Baby Gwen & Kaidence got to sleep inside where it was warm. :) I think it's time for a new 'tent', we've outgrown this one already.
