We have been busy around here. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. Next week is the last week of school....Woo Hoo! I can't wait!
Here is a peek at some of the fun we have been having this Spring...
Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival
My Dad, Harmony and I took the kids to the Tulip Festival this year. It was a little windy that day but it was so nice to be outside in the sunshine. My favorite part of the day was turning around and seeing D.J. reaching in the fountain for coins. He was reaching so far that his head was completely under the water. I caught a picture of him coming out of the water and then told him to stop. He is such a funny boy.
Libby got a new bike this month. She loves riding it in the house. Trevor says I would have never let the boys get away with that. What can I say, the girl has me wrapped around her finger.
Hannah Montana MovieMy nieces, Aspen & Autumn introduced me to Hannah Montana recently. Of course I have heard of her and have seen the Hannah Montana things for sale but I didn't know much about her. The girls invited me to see her new movie and by the time it was over I was a big fan. I loved the movie. I also bought the soundtrack from the movie and love all her songs. Yep, I've now joined the millions of Americans who love Hannah Montana. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that she doesn't go crazy like some other young girls do when they get famous. :)
The best part of going with the girls was watching them get ready to go. Aspen dressed up like Miley Cyrus and Autumn dressed up like Hannah Montana. They are so stinkin' cute!
I had to add this picture. On the way home from the movie Luke fell asleep and Aspen, being the sweetheart that she is, held up his head the whole way home. Now that's love!
A Trip to the Nursery

A Trip to the Nursery
The kids went to the nursery to pick out the flowers for our yard. They really got into it this year. D.J. had to read every tag that was in the flowers. When we got home and started planting the kids were more interested in filling the pots with water and playing in them than helping me. I can't blame them, it was a really hot day.
We are blessed to live by one of the greatest parks around. Our city park has a creek that runs through it and the kids love playing in it. We spend a lot of time there during the summer. We made our first visit there a couple of weeks ago and although the water was freezing we still had a great time. Harmony and her kids joined us and then our good friends Addie and Gerritt came also. Libby didn't like the cold water but she loved throwing rocks in the creek and drinking my Diet Coke while she watched the boys play. Can you blame her?
Sprinkler Fun
Libby has found our new favorite pastime. Playing in the sprinklers. She loves running through them and jumping on the trampoline with the sprinklers underneath it. The kids have played in them everyday this week. Hello high water bill!
Luke and Everett have really gotten into fishing lately. Harmony and I took them to the park last week to let them fish in the pond. They caught a tree, a stick, and even a duck (who got away without any long term damage) but no fish. They didn't seem to mind, they said it was a blast.
We decided to start a garden this year. I'm not sure why yet, being that we don't eat many vegetables around our house. Maybe that will change now that we are putting our blood, sweat, and tears into growing our own. :) My Dad came over last week and helped Trevor build some garden boxes and then we filled them with soil and let the kids plant some vegetables. We planted beans, peas, carrots, zucchini, cucumbers, corn, pumpkins, gourds, squash and a watermelon. Hee hee, I'm laughing as I type this just thinking about how funny it will be if nothing grows. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
While Harmony and I are were at Wal-mart last week we found that strawberries were on sale for $.98. I'm now sure why, since niether one of us have made jam before but we decided to buy some so we could make freezer jam. We spent most of Wednesday in the kitchen cooking endless batches of jam. I have to admit, for our first time, we didn't do so bad. Libby liked watching us while she snacked on some cereal. She put this skirt on in the morning and would not take it off all day. When I put her pajamas on that night I had to put the skirt back on her so she would stop screaming. After she fell asleep I hid it in the closet and she hasn't found it yet. I think I'll bring it out tomorrow just to see her smile. :)
