A day I dreamed of...

When I had the ultrasound to find out if Liberty was a boy or a girl I was convinced she was another boy. I was actually excited to have three boys. I knew my boys would always take care of me and I would be the Queen of the castle forever. :) I think it was a defense mechanism I had put up. I didn't even let myself think about having a girl. It was too much to hope for. When the ultrasound technician told us it was a girl I froze, and then I started to cry. I mean, really cry, tears streaming down my face cry. I couldn't believe it. I was going to have a girl! My dream of buying pretty dresses and putting bows in her hair was going to come true. Libby has been such a great addition to our family. But when I pictured my dreams I didn't take in to account that she may not WANT to wear dresses and have her hair done. And she doesn't! She likes to pick out her own clothes each morning, which means they never match and it is never a dress. Sometimes I put my foot down and let her scream while I put a cute outfit on that I pick out, but for the most part she runs around in sweats and pajamas most of the time. Doing her hair is an ordeal of it's own. She hates it, and I better not even think of putting a bow in it because she'll rip it out as soon as I put it in. It drives me crazy! But today was different! It was one of those days that I dreamed of as soon as I learned she was a girl. She let me put her Easter dress on with very minimal screaming and she sat still while I did her hair. Then the miracle of all miracles happened, she kept her bows in ALL day! I love it! It was as fun as I imagined. I'm sure tomorrow she'll be back to her old self again, but that's O.K.. I can deal with her having her 'own opinions' if she'll give me one of these days once in a while.

Isn't she the cutest thing EVER!

Oh my goodness...can she get any cuter?!
I remember feeling the same way at my ultrasound. Even though I only had 1 boy, I was SURE I was going to have ALL boys since my hubby has 7 brothers and 1 sister and she has 4 boys.
Girls are so much fun! Now, only if she could grow some hair so I could make it all cute! :)

So stinkin' cute! It might make you feel better to know that up until the last 6 months or so my girls were the same way about dresses, however, something switched and now they want "to wear a beautiful dress" every day. =)...hair, that's a different story! She's a doll.

So cute! I totally know how you feel! Kiley and Kara are the exact same way. It's a fight to get Kiley to even match her clothes or comb her hair at all, and Kara already pulls out her bows and her elastic bands!
yes, the moments that they let you get them all dolled up are truly the best!
Love the pics!

Gracie still hates the frills and the hair stuff. But she also likes the attention she gets when she looks really cute. So you will get more of these days as she grows. And yes, she is adorable. :)

I think I'm at that point of putting up the defense mechanism too! It's hard not to be after two boys! I keep hoping and praying for my little girl, and I'm sure if she ever comes, she'll probably do the same thing! LOL Libby is so adorable!
